1. fritz-kola

The fritz-kola Shopify store impresses with a perfectly coordinated design and features that bring the brand experience of the popular beverages and merchandise to life. Based on a Shopify Premium Theme (Impact), the store combines a cool look with smooth performance.
We also integrated a special deposit logic that optimizes the store for beverage purchases: Customers can immediately see the exact deposit amount for crates and bottles in their shopping cart. This practical feature ensures complete transparency and a seamless purchasing experience. In addition, we implemented an advanced warehouse logic that allows fritz-kola to efficiently manage different packaging sizes (12- and 24-packs) via a common inventory, simplifying inventory management and ensuring always-up-to-date stock information.

2. XbyX

The German company XbyX is known for high-quality plant-based products aimed primarily at women in midlife and menopause. We frequently cite XbyX as a best practice for professional and visually appealing blog content on Shopify. The company not only operates as a pure sales platform, but also uses Shopify to perfectly combine an online store and an SEO-optimized blog into a single system.
During implementation, we placed particular emphasis on the individual templates in order to be able to integrate elements such as author information and product banners into blog posts via the Shopify admin.
Thanks to Shopify's flexible design options, we were able to help XbyX effectively translate its brand identity into the digital world, creating a balance between informative content and positive imagery. Furthermore, social proof elements such as customer reviews and USPs are present throughout the entire store.
3. Henssler's Quick Number

Henssler's Schnelle Nummer cleverly combines inspiring recipe worlds with an intuitive shopping experience. The Shopify store boasts a unique design that impressively showcases TV chef Steffen Henssler's personal brand. Fans and customers can not only find his popular, easy-to-follow recipes, but can also discover and purchase the matching ingredients and kitchen utensils directly in the shop – a seamless connection between content and product.
The recipe world is the heart of the shop and offers an interactive experience: Customers receive detailed information about the recipes, including preparation times, nutritional values, and ingredient lists. A customizable portion calculator and the integration of YouTube videos ensure that each recipe can be tailored to individual needs and preparation is effortless.
Another highlight is the intelligent cross-selling in the shopping cart, which offers targeted additional product recommendations that optimize and personalize the shopping experience.

FC Union Berlin's Shopify store offers fans a unique shopping experience with extensive customization options. Of particular note is the innovative jersey configurator, which allows fans to customize jerseys according to their personal preferences. Whether custom printing, special text, or adding competition logos – the live preview allows fans to see the changes immediately and create their perfect Union jersey.
The shop's sophisticated design and optimized navigation make it easy for fans to quickly find their desired products. The integration of professional photo shoots and precise coordination with the club's look and feel bring the items to life, creating an authentic Union experience.
The integration with Shopify POS is also helpful, seamlessly connecting the online and brick-and-mortar fan shops. This simplifies inventory management and ensures a consistent shopping experience.
Further insights into our Shopify project with FC Union Berlin can be found in the case study.
5. Star glass

The German company Sternglas focuses on minimalist Bauhaus-style watches at affordable prices.
In our opinion, the puristic shop design gives the watches enough space to breathe while effectively conveying Sternglas's unfussy aesthetic. Another important component is the transparent presentation of the brand: Landing pages and "About Us" sections provide insights into the company's history and the motivation of the founders, thus creating a connection between the brand and its customers.
6. PESO

The PESO store takes innovation and user-friendliness to a new level with Shopify, impressively showcasing the streetwear brand's casual aesthetic. The website was designed with a unique custom design, bringing PESO's clean image to life in a particularly authentic way.
The interactive preview images on the category pages are practical for customers. Here, they can choose whether they want to see the garments on the model or as a flat lay, giving them a comprehensive impression of the look and fit. The advanced filter options also make browsing the product range easy: Customers can sort products by price, type, or color to find their favorites.
Features like Easy Size's integrated size finder provide valuable guidance when choosing the right size while simultaneously reducing the return rate. Restock alerts via Klaviyo also increase customer satisfaction by immediately notifying fans when out-of-stock items become available again. Overall, the PESO shop combines innovative features and a brand-loyal aesthetic to create a modern shopping experience that perfectly captures the spirit of the times.
7. Shower chunks

For us, Duschbrocken is an outstanding example of a successfully scaling D2C brand with a Shopify store. The German company made a name for itself with plastic-free bathroom products and quickly gained widespread recognition.
From the kitchen table to an impressive company: Learn more about Duschbrocken's success story in the Merchant Inspiration Podcast.
In our opinion, the online shop's appeal lies primarily in its captivating visual storytelling. The company's mission accompanies visitors at every step of the customer journey: environmental friendliness and sustainability, but with a wink and without a wagging finger.
8. DR. VIVIEN KARL

The Shopify store of the German skincare brand DR. VIVIEN KARL is another example from our own projects. We implemented a variety of interactive elements on every page of the website. A personal welcome from the founder on the homepage and in-depth explanatory videos about the brand and its products create a trusting connection from the first click.
Additionally, we prioritized the inclusion of prominent statements from doctors and brand supporters and used USPs as eye-catchers to convey positive experiences with the brand.
DR. VIVIEN KARL also impresses with its visual harmony: perfectly coordinated image elements combined with the soft and stylish color palette prove that high-quality online shops can be created with Shopify.
More insights into DR. VIVIEN KARL and Shopify can be found in our case study.
9. Men's clothing

HAKA , the brand for skin- and environmentally friendly cleaning and laundry products, relies on a Shopify store that ideally complements direct sales. Thanks to the Shopify platform, customers and sales partners alike benefit from a modern, optimized shopping experience.
Customers can enter their HAKA partner's ID during registration or in the shopping cart. The partner ID is automatically saved in the customer profile for future orders. Individual partner links also allow sales staff to pass on discounts directly to their customers.
The gamification in the shopping cart also adapts to the business model: Depending on whether the customer is from direct sales, different thresholds and free gifts are displayed there.
The shop also scores points with optimized product pages that offer a transparent purchasing experience through cross-selling, variant views, and comprehensive information on ingredients and application. Warning popups on category pages inform about potential hazards and usage instructions, thus guaranteeing maximum safety.
10. Beurer

In Germany, the number of medium-sized businesses using Shopify Plus as their e-commerce platform is steadily increasing. We often cite Beurer as an example to demonstrate that Shopify is ideally suited even for complex IT requirements and strict data protection regulations.
Beurer pursues a headless approach: The company processes transactions in the Shopify backend, but decouples the storefront and connects it to the Makaira tool. This freedom allows Beurer to make specific customizations and localizations.
You can learn more about implementing headless commerce with Shopify in our blog.
11. TEVEO

As one of the leading Shopify Plus brands in German-speaking countries, TEVEO has achieved considerable recognition, particularly in the fitness sector. While the initial focus was primarily on social media, we supported the company in optimizing its online shop with Shopify.
Since TEVEO relies heavily on influencer marketing campaigns, we ensured a strong connection between the online shop and social media. A dedicated themed world highlights the brand's most important influencers, dynamically embodies the diverse uses of TEVEO clothing, and creates an additional entry point into the shop.
The clear product and category pages also demonstrate how Shopify can achieve smooth navigation through the effective use of dropdowns, filter options, and bubbles.
12. orthomol

The Orthomol Sport online shop offers athletes a modern and appealing platform for finding the micronutrients that are perfect for them. We combined strong visual elements and structured text with a sophisticated layout that focuses on clarity. In addition to the product pages, there are informative additional pages such as "Quality & Safety," "About Us," and a magazine that offer exciting insights into the brand and its quality promise.
The shop also aims to convey confidence in product quality even without personal consultation. Therefore, key USPs, seals of approval, and authentic testimonials from supporters are integrated throughout all pages, underscoring credibility and excellence. This conveys a high level of security, which is particularly important when selecting supplements.
Each product page is structured and detailed to meet customers' information needs. Features such as dropdowns, FAQs, and comprehensive descriptions provide deeper insights into the ingredients and their benefits for athletic performance. The shop thus enables athletes to make informed and targeted product selections.
13. reisenthel

For Reisenthel's Shopify store , we implemented an elegant, custom design that reflects the brand identity and optimally showcases its innovative, functional bags. Customers experience the style and functionality of the beloved brand in a new, inspiring way.
One highlight is the visual menu: An illustrated mega menu on desktops and an intuitive two-level menu for smartphones offer clear, concise navigation. This allows customers to quickly find the right product and enjoy optimal orientation, whether shopping on a computer or mobile.
Additional features such as the implementation of complex inventory logic and extensive multilingual support with six available languages make the shop a perfect international sales platform. The extensive selection of variants on the product pages also allows for precise color and size selection – ideal for comprehensively presenting Reisenthel's diverse product range.
14. Ahead Nutrition

It's no coincidence that Ahead Nutrition won the "Best Looking Shop" category of the Merchant Inspiration Awards 2023. In our opinion, the online store is a successful example of how food brands can create a colorful and trustworthy presence with Shopify.
Striking colors, catchy statements, and striking portraits of the brand's most famous personalities not only convey the authentic joy of snacking, but also give the shop a friendly face. We also consider the navigation, which effectively integrates product images, a visual highlight and makes it easier to navigate the Shopify store, especially on mobile devices.
15th KESS Berlin

Many beauty brands face the challenge of guiding their customers through countless product variations and directing them to the right place in the store. We therefore frequently highlight the online store of the D2C brand KESS Berlin as a best practice for a seamless customer experience, even with fragmented product catalogs.
With Shopify as their platform and us as a trusted partner, KESS Berlin's concerns about complexity are a thing of the past. The shop impresses with its clear structure, visual assistance in the menu via thumbnails, and intuitive switches on the category pages.
We also implemented complex set logic on the product page. This allows customers to create customized bundles step by step. They can see key information, such as a preview and the average customer rating, at a glance. KESS Berlin is therefore a perfect example of Shopify's extensibility through custom programming.
You can find out more details about our collaboration with Kess Berlin in our case study.
16. AEVOR

For the AEVOR shop, we focused on exclusive value sets that customers can put together from a variety of bags and accessories. On the product pages, users see a structured overview of the individual bundle items, including a selection of variants and automatically adjusted preview images. This presents the offer clearly at a glance, while the displayed total savings and average rating specifically support the purchase decision.
The shop's design harmoniously reflects AEVOR's sporty corporate identity. Visual elements such as the brand's signature slant, which appears in banners and the loading bar, give the shop a distinctive identity. Since many users access the site via mobile devices, the shop has been optimized for mobile devices: An innovative menu combines dropdown menus and image sliders, ensuring customers can navigate intuitively even on the go.
AEVOR places great emphasis on clear product presentation, which is further supported by the sticky Add-to-Cart button – allowing products to be added to the shopping cart at any time. A simple, clean layout makes the items stand out visually, while the key product benefits are placed directly at the top of the product pages.
17. Freeletics

Freeletics gained a fan base of over 54 million users worldwide with its app-based training programs in Germany. The company has now expanded its offerings with a Shopify store for its own sports equipment and clothing.
The shop particularly impresses us with its clean design. Freeletics purposefully uses interactive elements such as animations and videos to convey a sense of the brand and context for the use of the products.
18. Hey Marly

Hey Marly is a successful fashion and lifestyle brand from Cologne that impresses with sandals with interchangeable toppings. In addition to its brick-and-mortar store, the brand also prioritizes the internationalization of its online store. Hey Marly has found the perfect platform for this with Shopify.
Together with Hey Marly, we maximized the customer journey. The modern design of the collection pages, which allows for smooth switching between different toppings, as well as clear navigation using product photos, are special highlights of the online shop.
Hey Marly also offers a particularly exceptional post-purchase experience with Shopify . All the details can be found in the presentation from MIT2023.
The product pages present customer reviews as easily understandable statistics, thus providing credible information about the quality and fit of the products. Overall, Hey Marly is a compelling example of how fashion brands use Shopify to not just sell fashion, but to build an immersive brand experience.
19TH APRIL

OH APRIL's Shopify store impresses with its elegant, brand-consistent aesthetic and outstanding user-friendliness. Based on the elegant Prestige theme, the sustainable fashion brand is given a high-quality look that perfectly showcases its fashion. Moving banners, interactive sliders, and "shop the look" sections offer inspiring insights into the collections and create a sophisticated shopping experience that impressively conveys the brand's look and feel.
Flexible category pages allow OH APRIL to design and present campaigns and collections independently. With the new setup, they can respond quickly to seasonal fashion and new designs without additional technical support. The versatile customization options ensure that the brand's distinctive visual language is emphasized on every shop page, while high-quality photoshoots present the clothing authentically and stylishly.

20. FC Viktoria Berlin

The FC Viktoria Berlin online shop offers fans much more than just fan merchandise. The shop's visual design encapsulates FC Viktoria Berlin's vibrant identity, combining visual storytelling with a modern, functional website.
A key highlight is the flexible membership model, which offers exclusive access to special discounts, products, and a dedicated Club Room with members-only content. This exclusive platform within the shop allows fans to support their club in a special way and benefit from unique advantages.
Automated processes significantly simplify the management of the membership model: membership subscriptions, activations, and tagging are all managed automatically. Notifications about new content in the Club Room and information about exclusive products can also be sent directly to fans via Klaviyo. This creates a holistic experience for fans and seamless administration for the team – an online store that perfectly combines inclusivity, engagement, and fan proximity.
Read the case study to learn more about how we helped FC Viktoria Berlin fully leverage Shopify's potential.
21. JACKS Beauty Line

We consider JACKS Beauty Line a prime example of a Shopify store with a particularly personal approach. The focus is clearly on customer service to alleviate the usual uncertainties customers may have when purchasing makeup online. Throughout the store, pop-ups and banners point users to free trials to help them find the right products for them.
Prominently placed presentations of the founders and lively image elements of the products illustrate the brand and round off the personal customer experience.
22. Emma & Noah

The Shopify store from emma & noah brings structure and clarity to a comprehensive range of sustainable baby products. The store precisely meets the needs of parents who want to shop easily and efficiently – thanks to clear navigation and a clearly structured homepage.
The design not only reflects emma&noah's loving brand identity, but many previously individually programmed customizations are now available natively in Shopify, ensuring a seamless store experience. This makes store management more flexible and easier for the emma&noah team, allowing them to independently customize products and categories.
Modern e-commerce tools complete the shop: The integration of Reviews.io for customer reviews and 8returns for smooth returns management ensures a seamless customer experience.
23. SNOCKS

When we talk about the most well-known German brands on Shopify, SNOCKS cannot be left unmentioned. With revenue of €57 million in 2022, the sneaker sock retailer is undoubtedly one of the big players on Shopify.
Despite its extensive product catalog, SNOCKS impresses with a deliberately minimalist design. A clearly structured mega menu allows customers to easily navigate through the broad product portfolio. Icons, testimonials, and social proof in the form of reviews, as well as Instagram integration, are present throughout the Shopify store, ensuring a sense of accessibility.
The product photography is also simple, ensuring a relaxed browsing experience. SNOCKS uses gamification for volume discounts on product pages to increase the average shopping cart value.
24. pinqponq

Pinqponq is one of the leading brands for sustainable backpacks and apparel in German-speaking countries and part of the well-known FOND OF Group. It's another online shop in which we also participated.
pinqponq's Shopify store perfectly reflects the brand's minimalist, clean aesthetic. Despite the extensive integration of photos and videos, the website impresses with its high page speed. We placed additional emphasis on optimizing the store for mobile devices, as this is the primary target audience.
Informative product pages showcase the backpacks in action, include cross-selling features, and make it easier for customers to compare different models thanks to overviews and tables. Throughout the online store, pinqponq also convincingly highlights its core USPs: sustainability and high quality.
25. PURELEI

PURELEI is one of Germany's most important Shopify stores. The Mannheim-based company specializes in Hawaiian-inspired jewelry and offers a broad product catalog. The concept has been met with positive feedback, with PURELEI enlisting celebrities such as Vanessa Mai and Rebecca Mir as brand ambassadors and generating revenue of €54 million in 2022.
In our view, PURELEI is a successful model for an interest-centered shop design. The menu structure allows customers to explore the offerings, for example, by occasion or product type. The category pages illustrate Shopify's extensive options for creating themed worlds.
26. LeGer by Lena Gercke

High-quality, streamlined shop design for a modern fashion brand? LeGer by Lena Gercke shows how it's done with Shopify.
The clean look puts the focus entirely on the products. Shop-the-look sections, striking product photography, and videos show the outfits in action and convey a tangible sense of the materials, colors, and combinability of the garments.
How did we approach the Shopify store together with LeGer ? Everything you need to know in the case study.
27. Gitti Beauty

At gitti Beauty, everything revolves around vegan nail polishes and cosmetics free from animal-derived and harmful additives. Likewise, their Shopify store is free of any frills and opts for a minimalist yet effective design.
The heart of the shop is the integrated set builder, which allows customers to combine nail polishes in the desired colors as they wish.
28. 3Bears

The Shopify store of the leading D2C brand 3Bears is another example of our own projects. We've been working successfully with the porridge brand for several years now, implementing an online store with a customized design that impressively showcases the brand identity.
What were the biggest challenges in setting up 3Bears' shop ? A look behind the scenes at our collaboration.
Optimized landing pages and blog pages for recipes and product information achieve strong SEO performance while simultaneously inviting customers to delve deeper into the 3Bears brand world. Even on the homepage, the prominent integration of blog posts creates a clear focus on content.
Friendly colors, playful product presentations, and personal information about the 3Bears team convincingly convey the fun of porridges and the quality of the products offered.
29. BLACKROLL

The German company BLACKROLL has become known worldwide for its fascia rollers. They also rely on a headless approach with Shopify Plus, using various Shopify instances for their international markets, both B2C and B2B.
Shopify or Shopify Plus? We explain the key differences in our guide.
What we particularly like about the online shop is its symbiosis of knowledge pages, informative product pages, and inspiring exercise pages. This allows customers to find everything they need to know in one central location.
30. Everdrop

We've already established several times in this list that Shopify is a suitable shopping system for all industries. A special example, however, is the vibrant presentation of the online shop of the household goods brand Everdrop .
The brand presents itself humorously and in pastel colors, but effectively emphasizes quality and environmental friendliness. The hierarchically structured and illustrated mega menu makes navigation through the shop incredibly easy and, in our opinion, is a real eye-catcher.
31. ESN

ESN is one of Germany's best-known brands for sports nutrition and supplements. Founded in 2004, the company also operates its successful online shop via Shopify.
What particularly stands out about ESN's shop is its cool design. On the homepage and product pages, customers can find the most important information about products, prices, ingredients, and flavors at a glance. Banners with striking imagery regularly interrupt the product lines on category pages, representing the brand and highlighting special offers.
The inclusion of strong impressions from the fitness community also conveys ESN's closeness to its customers.
32. Yfood

With its drinkable meals, the Munich-based company quickly became one of the best-known food brands in Germany.
YFood stands out for its particularly colorful and visually striking Shopify store. What's particularly striking is that, despite the product variety, the main navigation contains only three sub-items. The mega menu hidden beneath it still provides a clear hierarchy and guidance through the store.
33. Asphalt Gold

Since its founding in 2008, Asphaltgold has gradually developed into one of the largest sneaker retailers in Germany. The foundation of the online shop? Shopify Plus, of course.
We find the classic, old-school typography and clean product presentation particularly refreshing. However, it's clear that the online shop is clearly designed for mobile devices, targeting a younger audience, and the desktop version lacks some clarity.
34. Universal Music Germany

The example of Universal Germany demonstrates how well Shopify meets the requirements of even large corporations: Managing over a hundred shops of major artists (such as Taylor Swift ) in parallel sounds like a truly mammoth task. But with Shopify, Universal Music found a suitable platform to centrally manage its acts' online shops.
Thanks to Shopify, Universal Music efficiently creates a homogenous landscape of individual artist shops that are precisely coordinated in their technical, legal, and content implementation. Yet there's still plenty of scope for individual design customization.
Additionally, the company benefits from Shopify's extensive internationalization options and uncomplicated social media connections.
More details on Universal Music Germany's Shopify use case will be provided in the presentation by E-Commerce Operations Officer Ralf at the Merchant Inspiration Talks 2023.
35. Kloster Kitchen

We conclude our list of the most well-known Shopify stores in Germany with an example from our own project portfolio. Kloster Kitchen, considered a leading brand in the ginger shots sector, successfully migrated from Shopware 5 to Shopify.
Are you also considering switching from Shopware to Shopify ? Our detailed comparison will help you decide.
We integrated numerous best-practice approaches into Kloster Kitchen's online store. Animations ensure a hands-on product presentation and leave a lasting impression. Press logos, USPs, customer testimonials, and social media integrations guide visitors throughout the entire customer journey and build trust. CI-compliant image elements, blog content, and information pages round out the compelling storytelling of the Shopify store.
Another special feature can be found on Kloster Kitchen's product pages: The integrated configurator allows the diverse flavors to be displayed on a single page. This gives customers a perfect overview and allows them to put together their individual shopping cart completely according to their wishes in seconds.
