Berlin Shopify Meetup #04 - Date: November 2017 - Location: WeWork Sony Center
Hi,
Happy Black Friday for all you merchants, and a huge thank you to everyone who joined us at WeWork on Tuesday for our final meetup of the year!
It's always good to wrap up on a high note and thanks to our great speakers, and generous support from our hosts at WeWork, we were able to do just that! Read on for a summary of key announcements and links to all presentations.
Community Announcements
We kicked off the evening with some exciting updates from our ever-growing Shopify community here in Berlin. Glynn Ryland from Shaktimat kicked off the evening by announcing the launch of the Berlin Buddy Programme, aimed at helping merchants create a support network and grow their business together. You can read all the details and apply here if interested.
We also heard about the launch of Talmo, a new store selling beautifully designed Apple accessories – all feedback is welcome! And Looga were kind enough to share a voucher code for anyone interested in trying out their app in your own store: just enter NEWBESTCUSTOMERS to receive three months free usage.
We also shared the news of a special Shopify Partners-only meetup taking place next Wednesday, as well as a call for local Shopify merchants to be featured on the new German Shopify blog (if interested, please contact shauna.moran@shopify.com).
Presentations
Our special thanks to both Sebastian Misch from Nerds of all Trades, and Alexander Leichter from Byrd, both of whom delivered extremely interesting talks on the night. Alex took us through some of his top recommended apps for store owners (links to follow soon); while Sebastian discussed some of the common pitfalls for startup businesses.
(He also illustrated some of his points by really getting into the holiday spirit and offering a fun, on the spot, surprise giveaway, in collaboration with Uhrwerk.Berlin – so along with the usual collection of business cards and new connections, three lucky community members got to take home a new watch as well!)
Keep in touch!
Our next meetup won't be until January/February 2018 (exact date TBC) but in the meantime feel free to get in touch with us at shopifyberlin@gmail.com if you've a topic of your own you'd like to present to the community, or have a quick announcement you'd like to share.
You can also connect with us by joining our Facebook or Meetup groups, or by using the hashtag #BerlinShopifyMeetup on Twitter.
Wishing you all a very happy holiday season, and looking forward to seeing you in the New Year.
