Shopify Meetup #10 -1

Berlin Shopify Meetup #10 - Date: March 12, 2019 - Location: Deutsche Post Besucherzentrum

Community announcements:

The record was kept: This time we could start the new year where we left off the last year. In a new location in order to better fit all the guests, we hold this time's meetup at the offices of Deutsche Post. And with over 80 visitors we kept the high participant number from the last time.

Welcome to the Community: This time the meetup had to run without the official presence of Hagen and his team from Shopify. As they were in Munich preparing for the big conference, Shopify expert Adrian from Tante-E.com hosted the event this time on his own but with the great support of Deutsche Post.

Updates from Applab24: While at the last meetup the guys from Applab24 presented their current status quo of the app, this time they came back to present the most recent results from their testing round. Among the testers were well known shops in the Berlin communtiy, such as The Barn, Stay Cold Apparel or Consider Cologne. And the results were above average, beyond the expectations of many. They received a big applause and many curious and interested test users.

Presentations:

A big thanks goes this time to our speakers, Vuven from Stay Cold Apparel and Tung & Anica from Deutsche Post.

This time we tested a new format. Instead of having a one-person presentation, we conducted an interview live on stage with Vuven from Stay Cold Apparel. He presented the Berlin-based streetwear brand and their philosophy. With the help of videos he gave more insights into their marketing strategy and their recipe to grow their customer base over the span of the last years so drastically.

Tung & Anica helped the audience think more intensively about a topic that usually is not that much thought of: Offline marketing via mailings and post cards. They showed possibilities to merge offline and online together and presented opportunities also for smaller Shopify shops on how they could use their proven success for their Shopify shop.

Also this time the networking and long talks continued until late hours. Even though the photo doesn't seem like it, the room was crowded until almost the very end. And also this time Deutsche Post encouraged the networking with a wide variety of cold drinks as well as amazing sandwiches and finger food.
